Sizing, shipping and care
Everything you need before and after ordering. Courier fees and buyer protection are handled by the marketplace you buy from.
Every product page carries its own official size chart for that exact piece. Use this page for the method; use the product page for the numbers.
How to measure
- Bust or chest: around the fullest part, tape kept horizontal.
- Waist: around the natural waistline, usually the narrowest point.
- Hips: around the fullest part of the hips.
- Length: from the highest shoulder point to your desired hemline.

Barong and menswear (4 pieces)
Barong is measured across the chest with the shirt buttoned, and is cut with a classic, slightly relaxed fit. Exact chest and length figures are on each barong product page.
Kids (6 pieces)
Kids pieces are sold by age band. Children of the same age vary a lot, so measure chest and dress length and check them against the chart on the product page rather than ordering on age alone.
Free size (1 piece)
Cut to fit a range rather than a single size. The product page states the range it covers.
4 pieces are one size only, such as the shawl and wrap pieces.
Between sizes, we recommend sizing up. For made-to-measure, message us before ordering and we will cut to your measurements.
Shipping
- Processing: orders are processed within 2 to 3 business days.
- Domestic: 5 to 7 business days by standard courier; express is 2 to 3 days where available.
- International: 10 to 21 business days depending on destination.
Courier options, fees and tracking are handled by the marketplace you order from.
Returns and exchanges
- Window: 14 days from the delivery date.
- Condition: unworn, unwashed, with original tags attached.
- How: open a return through the marketplace order, or email hello@laceandallure.com.
- Refunds: processed within 5 to 7 business days of the return arriving.
Custom and bespoke orders are non-refundable. For a defect or sizing fault, contact us within 48 hours of delivery and we will make it right.
What we can make
Made-to-measure Modern Filipiniana, barong and gowns for weddings, formal events and milestone celebrations.
- Fabric: piña, jusi, organza, silk and lace; specific materials can be sourced on request.
- Embroidery: traditional or modern motifs, beadwork and embellishment.
- Fit: drafted to your measurements, with changes to necklines, sleeves and lengths.
- Colour: ivory, champagne, pastels and deeper tones; custom dyeing on selected fabrics.
Process and timeline
- Consultation: by email, Viber or video call to review design and measurements.
- Quote: detailed pricing within 2 business days.
- Production: 4 to 8 weeks depending on complexity and fabric availability.
- Fitting: one midpoint fitting, in person or virtual, plus final adjustments.

Commissions require a 50 percent deposit, with the balance due before shipping.
Washing and cleaning
- Piña and jusi: dry clean only. Keep away from water at home to protect the fibres and embroidery.
- Organza and silk blends: hand wash cold with a mild detergent. Do not wring; dry flat out of direct sun.
- Cotton and linen barong: gentle machine cycle or hand wash, cold water, mild soap. Air dry on a padded hanger.
- Embroidered and beaded pieces: dry clean. Spot clean small marks with a damp cloth.
Ironing and steaming
Iron on low to medium heat, on the reverse side or under a pressing cloth. Steaming is gentler: hold the head 6 to 8 inches from the fabric.
Storage
- Short term: padded hanger inside a breathable garment bag. Avoid wire hangers, which distort the shoulder line.
- Long term: cool, dry and dark, layered with acid-free tissue. Avoid plastic, which traps moisture.
- Humidity: add silica gel packets to guard against mildew.
Stains
Blot immediately with a clean white cloth, never rub, then take the piece to a professional cleaner and tell them what caused the stain.
Always check the care label sewn into the garment; it takes priority over this general guidance.
